Tour, Common Prayer Meeting for Peace & Conference Dinner

St Paul's Catacombs (or St Paul's Grotto) is the place where presumably St Paul the Apostle in the year 60 A.D. has founded the first Christian community on the island. It's therefore the cradle of Christianity in Malta.

Being there is a great opportunity to have a visit in Mdina. Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill in the centre of Malta. The town was the old capital of Malta, and with its narrow streets, few inhabitants and beatuful views over the Island it is truly a magical town. Mdina is referred to as the “Silent City” by Maltese and visitors alike - no cars (except those of a limited number of residents) have permission to enter Mdina and the town provides a relaxing atmosphere among the visitors walking its narrow streets and alleyways.

In the Mdina cathedral the conference participants, the president of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, Archbishop Paul Cremona and many guests assembled for a common peace prayer.
Hear an audio recording of this moving gathering, produced by Radju Marija (in Maltese and English language).

Here you find a photo slide show of the Peace Prayer meeting.

The conference dinner later took place at the Peristyle Restaurant in Rabat, the twin town of Mdina.
